4th Recovery Plus Who: some trainers Shahroo Izadi is training development manager at Emerging Horizons, a leading training and consultancy company. She also delivers workshops for The School of Life and support groups for the Amy Winehouse Foundation in addition to recently launching her private practice in London. Shahroo is psychology postgraduate with experience in delivering substance misuse treatment in clinical and charitable healthcare settings. She is committed to conducting ongoing research around addictive behaviours, to develop evidence-based protocol around providing compassionate recovery-focused treatment for problematic drug and alcohol use. Valerie Kading NP, MSN, DNP serves as the associate director of medical operations for Sierra Tucson, focusing on enhancing medical system operations and management to facilitate exceptional patient care. Previously, Valerie practiced as a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for 10 years in a community mental health clinic, working with patients with various mood disorders and co-occurring substance abuse diagnoses. She worked collaboratively with the executive leadership team in a supervisory administrative role, to implement an innovative medical model developing new procedures for nurses and medical assistants, and addressing the needs of patients and medical providers. Valerie specialises in working with perinatal women experiencing psychiatric illness. She also worked as an adjunct professor at Grand Canyon University. Rokelle Lerner is a pioneer in the development of cutting-edge treatment for children and adult children of alcoholics and a renowned author and lecturer in the field of addiction and relationship issues. She has trained counsellors, psychologists, teachers and social workers throughout the world in healing the family from the ravages of addiction. Rokelle has authored: Daily Affirmations for Adult Children of Alcoholics, Boundaries for Codependents, Life in the Comfort Zone: Creating wellbeing in relationships, Coping with Narcissists, I’m Running As Fast As I Can: How adult children of alcoholics catch up on child development, Challenge of Intimacy for ACoAs. Rokelle is the senior clinical adviser for Crossroads Recovery Center in Antigua. George Powell is CEO and founder of Summit Diagnostics, with over 30 years’ experience in the clinical testing business, in both products and services. George serves on the boards of a number of laboratories and has expertise in lab start up, compliance, production and partnering with labs to assure compliance and cost containment.
